Guest from the Victoria Falls University
From July 17 to July 22, 2014, Mrs. Gertrude Mwangala Akapelwa-Ehueni, the Vice Chancellor of the Victoria Falls University, Livingstone, Zambia, visited the University of Economy to identify areas of partnerships between the Zambian university and UoE.
Victoria Falls University of Technology is one of the top universities of science and technology devoted to the advancement of technological entrepreneurship in Africa. Currently, Victoria Falls University has four schools:
– School of Education;
– School of Information and Communication Technology;
– School of Business and Finance;
– School of Hotel and Tourism Management.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor had meetings with the President of the University Mr. Krzysztof Sikora, Filip Sikora – the Chancellor, Łukasz Jasiński – Director of International Affairs Office, Marta Sikora – Director of Education Project Centre, and representatives of the Departments of
Tourism Economy and Geography – Mariusz Barczak, Informatics and Mechatronics – Włodzimierz Masierak, and Economics and Management – Michał Chajęcki and Killion Munyama.
Mrs. Gertrude Mwangala Akapelwa-Ehueni was given a conducted tour of the University facilities and she held several discussions. Besides meeting in the Department in Bydgoszcz she also met the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Engineering in Malbork.
During the Vice Chancellor’s visit, some areas of cooperation between Victoria Falls University and University of Economy were identified, along with the steps to be taken toward the preparation and singing of a memorandum of understanding.
